Chrissy has over 18 years of experience teaching the Pilates Method. She is trained with both classical & evolve methods of pilates work. As a studio owner, instructor & student, she has worked & learned from the very best in the industry for classical pilates method. She offers her pilates sessions in her Virtual Classroom & also studio space in Elmhurst, IL @ Ignite Fitness.

Joseph Pilates created this method of fitness to condition both the mind & body, formally known as "Contrology". The Pilates Method encourages the use of the mind to control the muscles in the body.  Joe was born near Düsseldorf, Germany in 1880, at 14 he was modeling for anatomy books. His father is believed to have been a gymnast, and his mother a naturopath.  His exercises included abdominal work, leg and arm work, balancing exercises, and spinal movements in all planes: flexion, extension, side bending, and rotation, as they were based on the German gymnastics Joe learned as a child. It is said that he taught his method to others during WWII at an internment camp and thus they survived the 1918 flu pandemic due to their good physical shape.
